The Morgan Companies Plans Publix-Anchored Shopping Center in Florence, SC

FLORENCE, South Carolina (March 2025) – The Morgan Companies (“Morgan”) is pleased to announce that Publix Super Markets, Inc. has officially signed a lease to anchor a new shopping center at the intersection of West Palmetto Street (US Highway 76) and South Ebenezer Road in Florence, South Carolina..

The planned development will feature an approximately 47,000 square-foot Publix supermarket, complemented by an additional 18,050 square feet of retail space, along with several outparcels for future retail development. Once completed, the shopping center is expected to become a premier retail destination for the growing Florence community, offering a top-tier grocery experience alongside a variety of convenient shopping and dining options.

Morgan will develop the shopping center to be named Palmetto Place. Wes Thurmond and Robey Spratt of Atlantic Retail will serve as the leasing agents for the project

Morgan will acquire the land for the shopping center in the next few months and plans to begin construction later this year.
